Santiago, Chile — On September 10 local time, the bidding evaluation and opening for the Chile Tren Alameda-Melipilla?Railway Tunnel Project were completed. The consortium consisting of China Railway International Group, China Railway Tunnel Group, and China Road and Bridge Corporation ranked first with a bid of USD 202 million, successfully winning the project.
The project is located in Santiago, the capital of Chile. The line starts from Alameda Station and ends at Central 2 Station, with a total length of 3,900 meters, including 3,132 meters of tunnels, and will add two new passenger lines. It adopts the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) model with a construction period of 45 months. The scope of work includes design optimization, tunnel works, track works, electric traction power supply works, ventilation works, drainage works, technical training, and more.
